The Management of BB KINGS reported that Billy Proulx & The Crew delivered the goods last Saturday Night. Management was dealing with the band to get a new date even before Billy had unplugged. Thanks to promoter Mike Warshaw, and the Crews blistering performance They will be back at BB KINGS Mar.8th. The set was pure blues. And there were some surprises. Billy's son Casey was featured on piano and made the most of it. The young jazz pianist showed that he equally at home in the blues genre as each solo enlisted an ovation as did Erle Saunders' licks in "Blues with a Feelin". Jon McConnell was his soulful self during two tributes to man whose name dons the club: "Rock Me Baby" and yes he sang "The Thrill is Gone" AT BB KINGS. Now that takes guts (not to mention talent). Rick Henderson and Olises Narongo laid down an infectious groove. Billy sang with an authority that would have done BB himself proud. After a double encore they still seemed to leave 'em wanting more. And there will be more March 8th. See you then!
